This project was initially a funny idea after seeing a similar account bring in millions of views and thousands of dollars worth of sales with a sub-par Shopify store and branding. The challenge was creating something that stood out from our competition while still being relevant with the consumer. Having never built a ground up brand before, the biggest challenge for me was navigating the various sometimes not so fun necessities of running a brand, such as a strict social media posting schedule, product returns, and of course customer service.
"Rizz" short for “charisma,” means an ability to charm and woo a person. With a culturally relevant name in place, I set my eyes on the brand identity. I knew majority of our customers would be from social media which is why I used bright colors and bold lettering with sharp edges to push our loud and edgy brand across. Translating this branding to our e-commerce store, I used bold outlines, emojis, large images, and focused on creating an engaging shopping experience, optimized for mobile responsiveness.
In addition to the branding, I began posting on social media generating over 6 million views before the sale of the store. Utilizing the social platforms, i marketed the apparel using gurilla marketing tactics to push our products.
Recognizing the pivotal role of social media media is creating a successful brand my firs line of business apart from establishing the brand was creating a strong social presence to drive sales. During the year of business ownership, I was able to grow our account to ver 6 million views and 91,000 likes, establishing a solid fanbase that translated into tangible business growth.
